Year unknown, from epay.
Condition - "I was told it works."
My understanding is that this unit has tuned rf stage, and no pcb, it is point to point hand wired.
The clear dial is so yellowed you can hardly see the scale through it.
Is there a way to fix this, or is it best left alone?

Thanks!

Hey Dalton,

Have a couple of 'em and that metal chassis is a work of art ! Guess that's why I've bought multiples...

From all that I've researched, believe that it's the ONLY Motorola transistor portable ever made with a hand-wired metal chassis, so that makes it a special-interest set in my mind... Came out in 1959...

Yes---the tuning knobs can be cleaned then polished with Novus-2. It won't remove the yellow tint, but will restore transparency...

Here is one of my project threads on them---the others can be easily found with search: https://www.antiqueradios.com/forums/vi ... 4&t=254897

Don't hesitate to ask for any pics or other info that I might have that might be of help...

John

Thanks, John!
I already own 5P2E that is gorgeous, brass face and blue leather.
It has been restored, the performance put a big smile on my face!
The transistor Ranger is probably even better, once recapped and aligned.
Thanks very much for the link, and I will check out the
others!
