I have a Zenith Royal 790YM Super Navigator that has developed an intermittent/short in the rotating antenna. The signal will increase/decrease sharply in strength and produce static when the antenna is simply touched.

Does anyone here have experience with this or similar rotating ferrite bar antennas that might point me in the direction of a fix. I do not have the manual and cannot find any pics on the internet that might help. i don't want to tear into before I know what to look for.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Terry

Hello Terry,

I have the Royal 97 which is same basic radio.

Also have the service info which was shared with me---PM an e-mail address and I'll send you a copy.

Here is my project thread which shows radio disassembled: https://www.antiqueradios.com/forums/vi ... 4&t=280360

A great radio when working properly !

John
