I got another receiver for free. It was given to me by the man whose Sony I recently restored viewtopic.php?f=4&t=415560

It was badly hit and part of the case is missing. But the front panel is aluminum and has an interesting design.

I replaced the capacitors in the receiver. It was very difficult. Close installation and many wires that messy connect something. For change the capacitor, you need to desolder several wires and then return them to their place.

I made video https://youtu.be/9UujE2-f3IQ
Maybe someday I'll find a way to repair back cover.

Due to power outages, I began to use this radio more often to listen to local news and decided to fix this huge hole in the case. In addition, the antenna has ceased to stay on the back cover. I used epoxy. Painted with matte black spray paint.

Looks like it would be a good sounding little radio with that large oval speaker ! Interesting plug-in battery compartment. The repair just looks like a "melted" area now---adds character !

I did not want to spend a lot of time and effort on repairs. Yes, and with the materials I have here is not very good. I decided that the main thing is to restore usability.
As for the sound, this is a very loud device. Distortion is heard on the music, as if there is not enough bandwidth. I never got the perfect sound. But it conveys "voice" perfectly cleanly and without distortion. Also very high sensitivity on FM and not bad for its size on MW.
For my conditions, this is a very good radio. This toy has good sensitivity, size, and most importantly, it needs common AA batteries. If necessary, you do not need to look for where to charge the lithium batteries. But few AA batteries you can find everywhere and they will last a very long time.
