Hi there fellow members,

I'm trying to finish up restoration of an RCA New Vista Console Model VHT61W with an RC-1218N Tuner/Preamp and the FM stereo indicator light remains on regardless of the input selected.

I have double checked and tested transistors all over this unit and have replaced all of them except those indicated as AM/FM converters or IF or RF amps, due to noise or causing weakness in one channel.

I received advice to check the stereo switch transistor as a potential culprit, but it is new and tested well. I even swapped it with another new transistor just to rule out any possibilities.

Would anyone have any suggestions of how to troubleshoot this issue?
