I'm looking for a manual for the Navy RBK-16, a very late (1952) version of the Hallicrafters S-36A. The manual number may be NAVSHIPS 91616.
This model differs from the RBK-15 in many ways that I am just starting to discover, a few include:
-Smooth Navy Gray front panel
-No Hallicrafters patent/Serial Number plate on rear of chassis
-Navy aluminum/orange data plate on front panel with low S/N (no H or HA serial number)
- Circular connectors for power in and audio out on aluminum plate where phenolic speaker terminal board was on earlier versions.
- Locations for two fuseholders on rear panel.
-Headphone jack moved to lower right front panel where previous models had fuseholder.
- Internal wiring thermoplastic insulated, harness tied with plastic lacing.
-Some Component numbers beyond the highest numbers in RBK-15
Assistance finding a copy or scan of the manual would be appreciated.
Thanks
Chuck K7MCG

I bet you have a pretty rare beast Chuck since by 1952 the basic S-36 design was very dated. Good luck on unearthing any documentation. I am happy that this RBK-16 has found a good home.

This copy is marked "RBK-15" on the cover page, but the content shows "RBK-( )" which caused me guess there's a chance there wasn't a specific complete manual for RBK-16 but NAVSHIP 91616 is this manual plus an addendum for the "-A" version of the same chassis number.

Note that the 1958 document that lists reference material for this series of radio does not show a separate document for RBK-15.
