I looked for a schematic for my Admiral model 380-7h on nostalgia air and couldn't find it! Any one know where else I can get the schematic?

Hi

Found 382-7H. Admiral was made by Continental. Could this be the one? If not list tubes in your radio.

Okay, back to this radio. I've been finishing up some of my other radios (philco 610, crosley 1126, Atwater kent 317) and now I've come back to this admiral 380 7h and The model 382 7h on nostalgia air seems to be a match. The first issue other then scarce information and making an escutcheon , is my dial string has come off, not broke. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to restring this dial. As it goes with this odd ball, I can't seem to find anything under Admiral or continental radio corp. for a model 380 7h or 382 7h.

Hello! I know this is an old post, but did you ever figure out how to restring the dial on the Admiral 380-7H? I just started a restoration for my father-in-law. Thank you!

Hey Ben.Boyce, I vaguely remember fooling around with the dial string until I figured it out, but I don't recall how I did it and I had sold this radio a few years ago.

Send Andy aka Govee a PM (private message) available at the bottom of any of his postings. He had this model last year.

That pic helps a bit. A lot of radios have a similar dial cord arrangement, certainly other Admirals of that era.
Usually you start with tuning cap closed, pointer at the low end of the dial.
Make sure the wrap around the tuning knob shaft is in the right direction, 2 1/2 turns is average. No disgrace in using a bit of tape to hold cord on the pulleys.
String it up a bit loose, make sure it will work, then shorten up to put tension on the spring.

Your model is mentioned:

Thank you everyone for your replies. Gregg, thank you for the link to the dial cord guide as well. I've got a lot of cleaning and component replacement ahead of me. This one should keep me occupied for some time.

Thanks,
Ben
