Philco sets in the 1940's often had pushbuttons on the front panel and one would be used as an On/Off switch. I have seen several broken ones and have added a small switch on the back panel. Customer did not want that done and suggested a new volume control with switch on the back. Here is a neater solution. Switch only costs $0.39. The only modification required is to enlarge the hole to clear the shoulder on the switch.

VERY NICE Dale. Thanks. I used one of the usual PB switches from the local big box store the last time around and was totally UN happy with it. Ended up actually changing out the tone control for one that had a switch on it. But this is MUCH BETTER solution. Yes I ordered some of them.
