Hey Guys I'm going to go look at a Zenith 10S-669 it has quite a few chips on the faux wood grain pillars. I've been told the only way to fix this is to color it in with a stain pen & reclear it. I poked around on Ebay & there were no 1942 models, my Zenith book says this is a very common set, but are the 1942 models harder to find? Being a 10 tube set I assume it has an RF amp stage & push pull audio.
Thanks Jackson

"color it in with a stain pen & reclear it" is a simplistic description, but it is basically correct. It's just like restoring an old painting. If there is a section of pint missing, you either leave it, or you have to recreate what was there from scratch. To do an invisible job may require the void to be filled to bring the surface up to the level of the surroundings before the grain pattern is recreated.
