What is best grill cloth choice that's closest to original for a philco 42-380 and what's your non original best choice of color and pattern?

When I did a 40-180 that needed new cloth, I went to the local fabric store. The original is kind of like a cheesecloth and doesnt have any type of pattern to it. I just found some that was really close. Most of it is hid behind the grille bars so you really dont see it much. I would just run to the fabric store and buy a yard of something close.

I ended up going to Jo-Ann Fabrics and found some tinted burlap that suits me and looks good installed.

That looks fantastic! I have been looking at fabric stores as well and ETSY material sellers.

That looks great Eddie. A subtle color that adds a little character.
I have found a few good choices at Hobby Lobby. Most of the stuff there is too heavy so you have to be choosy. I try to find something that will acoustically transparent and not too visually distracting on the radio.
