Can someone tell me what kind of string was used in the bonnet on the back of anf Radiola 103 speaker to secure onto the speaker and close at the back?

Here is the back of mine with the bonnet that Kenneth Ericson had made in China (see previous threads). He was such a stickler for originality, and took an original with him, that it must be as right as you are likely to see.

Cord is say 1.8mm diam and a yelowish green.

Not really string, it's more of what I would call cording. Attached original bronze colored matches the silk fabric copper-bronze.

Would this be something like a shoe lace? Or maybe 1.8 mm Braided Lift Shade Cord?
Looking at this. https://www.amazon.ca/YFRPKEU-Braided-P ... 80&sr=8-18

Most shoe laces are flat here but the speaker cord is round.

Think I will go with the 1.8 mm Braided Lift Shade Cord from Amazon.

I bought a cone and steel ring for the back of the Radiola 103 from Keith (Waterski), thanks Keith, but not sure how the steel ring is used.
Can anyone advise?

Here is a picture of the cone and wire ring I don't know where it goes.
It is 10" in diameter.

Mine originally didnt have that and neither did the K.E. set of restoration parts.

Guess it goes in the cupboard for "just in case" :D

There is no mention of a wire ring in the RCA 103 Service Manual: I assume you have a copy of this?

BTW Happy Birthday, have one for me :D

To wrap this up...
The cord from Amazon worked great. I ended up using about 3" of shrink tube over the cord end to feed thru the cloth bonnet.
The steel wire ring - I have no idea where is it used.
The finished back of the Radiola 103 is pictured.
