Hello, I have had this radio since 2004 and so hate the decals on it. Is it possable to remove the decals under the coating or will it require a ton of work. Sand it a bit, and re apply whatever coating is on it? Yes, I just noticed that the cabinet is not a 90 but a 70....things I didnt notice until years later  The chassis is a canadian model 90 with 1 47 output tube.

That philco decal is suppose to be there but not the others, You can not remove it without damage to the clear coat finish, the decal maybe under the clear, if its not under the clear you can remove it with water and your finger. I do see the out line on borders of decals and is probably not under the clear.

I have never seen a 90 with decals on it. Going to apply water and see if the knob decals come off. I didnt feel anything when I ran my fingernail across the decals.

Well very possible the decals are buried into the clear in that case you will have to strip least the front panel very carefully and refinish after the decals are removed.

so stripping just the decal areas and reapply what ever coating afterwards would look like donkey butt or would that work, or is that strip the whole front panel.

You should strip the entire front panel and refinish. Don't try and strip just the decal area it will look like dodo.
