I have a very early Hallicrafters SX 28 (fcc version) that does not have a cabinet. Given that it was used in a fcc van it likely never had a cabinet. I am mating the receiver up with a recently restored HT 32. I have a spare HT 32 cabinet from a parts unit that will fit the SX 28 except for the rounded inner corners on the cabinet contrasted with the sharp square corners on the face of the SX 28.

I would like to reshape the corners on the case. I have considered notching the corners with a die grinder or reshaping them with heat and some sort of sharp cornered die. Any suggestions on the best approach for reshaping the inner corners on the cabinet?

Thank you,

Jonathan

Dremel the corners round on the chassis and install. :)

I have considered that... I think the face panel is more valuable than the case. Hence, my preference to alter the case.
