Stripped the cabinet using Citrus Clean followed by lacquer wipe downs.
Replaced top water ruined veneer, used a roller to apply one coat of titebond to veneer and cabinet, let dry, used a model airplane monocote iron to heat up dried glue and attach to cabinet top.
Used Mohawk Sanding Sealer, Mohawk Ultra Perfect Brown Dye based for main cabinet, Mohawk Dark Mahogany pigment toner for the trim, followed by Mohawk Ultra Gloss Clear.
Chassis was cleaned using Rustolium rust remover and alcohol spray.

Looks very nice to me Lewis, you did a nice job. I have the 8A chassis and wish that I could locate a cabinet for it.
Hope your having a good Memorial Day weekend.

Thanks Pete,
Guess I was lucky to find this radio and cabinet in pretty good shape, paid $40.00 for it.
Did you restore your chassis?

It is a very nice job on the cabinet. I like the toning you did. That dial is something else.
very colorful, but I am a sucker for all the bells and whistles.
All in all you did a very good job.
Did you get the reproduction dial from Radio Daze?

Lewis, this is my 8A chassis with my broken dial glass. If I ever get a cabinet and escutcheon I'll get a repro.

Thanks Guys!

Dan, yes the dial and rear sticker are from Radiodaze. The original glass was broken, this is a recreation.
