Hi folks,

I am finally in the process of putting my Sparton console back together. Unfortunately the dial plate has a plastic trim around it that is 3/16” outside width and 1/8” inside that the glass plate slides into.

The top piece is so brittle it has broken into several pieces.

Are there any sources for such special items?

Since the bottom is not bad I thought about splitting a piece of small shrink tubing and sliding it onto both ends of the top to keep it from being loose and leaving it at that. It won’t be visible.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Ed

I think it used to be a rubber strip, believe it or not, and just went rock hard, I think you can buy new rubber channel from at least one of the online vendors. Is it along the bottom of the dial as well?

Radio Daze has it. Not cheap, but what is.

How about automotive vacuum hose, sliced with a razor blade lengthwise?
