Hi Guys:

I want to experiment a bit with painting Bakelite radios. I have a white painted bakelite radio with a couple of minor wear-through spots that I'd like to paint bright red or possibly even metallic red. I'm thinking of using Duplicolor Auto touch-up spray to do the job. Any tips for prep and steps and is Duplicolor a good choice for paint? Thanks!

Give it a good sanding and remove any glossy surfaces so that the new finish will "bite" down on the original finish.

Should I use primer? Has anyone used Duplicolor paints and what kind of results did you get?

Wouldn't hurt to use primer, never used duplicolor, I'm sure it's pretty good. I usually use Krylon.
