I lucked out this past weekend and found a Philco 118 cathedral radio right out of the original owners estate where it was meticulously cared for the last 67 years, and it is in museum quality condition. I have never seen an original multi-shaded wood finish this perfect (it is original beyond doubt). I want to clean it up ever so slightly as there is some dust and I also want to preserve the finish. I was thinking about using some orange oil on a damp sponge and then wiping it clean with a cotton cloth. Is this the best method to use? I don't want to use anything more aggressive out of fear of scratching the surface. I'll post a picture when it is done on my website (http://www.radiotiques.com).
Thanks.
------------------
I use waterless hand cleaner like Goop to clean nice cabinets. It works wonders, even on junky finishes. It will take off years of dirt, nicotine, what have you.
Peter

------------------
http://www.plasticradios.com

Thanks Larry. If my wife would stop calling me upstairs it would surely be like heaven.
------------------
