Hoping someone could post a scan of the Sencore TF 166 Transistor Analyzer Parts list & Schematic. I have the operator's and service manual, but there's no schematic or parts list. I saw a pic online of a unit for sale at some time in the past that had all of the paperwork included in the sale, and the parts list/schematic was on a separate piece of paper.

That manual does not include the parts list or schematic but thanks anyway. It is a pretty nice manual on how to use this transistor tester and how it works, though.
I have been trying to find the schematic for many years with no luck whatsoever.

Hello,

I have also been looking for a copy of the schematic and parts list for the Sencore TF-166.
I am also looking for a donor IDSS switch. I purchased a TF-166 from eBay, and it was poorly packed. The IDSS switch shaft broke inside the switch. I disassembled the unit enough to remove this switch Taking photos as I go so I can reassemble it correctly., I then disassembled the switch in an attempt to repair it, but there just isn't enough material in the shaft where it broke to provide any mechanical strength.

Any assistance is welcome - thank you in advance.

You could try contacting Sencore. Sometimes a phone call will get you to a sympathetic tech if email fails

I will try that, with adjusted expectations. Thanks.

If no luck, you could try making one out of wood, etc. I would try Delrin, see if you can find sq stock that matches sq size online. Pull a switch apart next to it copy and make one.

I actually found that a friend of mine had the schematic and parts list. He took photos of them and then scanned them for me. The schematic had to be scanned in pieces because it was too large for his scanner. I have already joined the separate images into a single image, and am working to touch up places that are not as legible as they should be. I will supply it and the parts list after I clean them up.

We also discussed various approaches to accomplishing the repair, including 3D printing a new shaft, or creating a mold the existing one and replicating it that way. His son has a small printer that may be capable of the job and I am reaching out to other friends who may also have this capability. I have my verier caliper out and am making measurements of the various features on the shaft, so I can construct a digital representation of it.

Stay tuned, it's just getting interesting.

kl0neman,
That is a very common switch type used is many pieces of equipment. You should be able to disassemble another one to get the pieces needed to fix yours.
I have some in my junk box. If you could post some more close up photos of your switch I could try to see if any of mine match. If so, they are yours gratis.

I believe the switch is similar to a CK F2UOA.

As a last resort it would be possible to carefully drill (or machine) a small hole in both halves of the shaft and either force fit a pin or thread a small screw to hold the parts together.

kl0neman,
What is the length of the broken white plastic piece?

My estimate, based upon measurement of the part I have that was outside of the switch, and applying a scale deduced from both of the peices in my photo is 1.475 inches.

kl0neman,
I've gone through all my similar switches but, unfortunately, don't have any exactly like yours. Sorry.

2021-10-11 UPDATE: I thought I had an order in to Mouser Electronics for a replacement switch, and was wondering why the switch had not yet been delivered.

Yesterday (Oct 10), I visited the website to check status, and found that the switch was still in my cart (ugh).

The order was mostly likely not completed due to my attempt to locate some electrolytic capacitors and some PCB connectors needed for a Kenwood multichannel A/V amplifier. My rationale: to save money on shipping for a combination of parts.

Mouser had no suitable replacement parts, so I completed the order for the switch only, and look forward to receiving it.

I have not forgotten to upload the "cleaned up" scans of the TF-166 Schematic Diagram and Parts List - I have been sidetracked by the above as well as a few other projects that have popped up. I promise I will get that done soon.

I have been trying to upload the scans of the schematic and parts list, but was unsuccessful. The file transfers just hang with no progress.

Where are you trying to upload them to?

I have a TF 166 here. This thing seems rather way large as a transistor tester to me. But I got it for free. They had it at work and no one ever used it. It then broke. I got it and found a power resistor gone bad inside it. Replaced that and back in business. I think all the tech data I have is on that CD ROM that someone was selling on ebay that was just a disc of Sencore manuals. I could not even tell you where that disc is since I moved. It has sort of a warmup period where the zero drifts a little but it then does basic transistor tests OK. Basic gain and whether it is leaky or not. Maybe the reason no one used it much is because it is big and heavy. I had the add on module for a Simpson 260 at one time for testing transistors, but I think that one was optimized for Germanium types mostly. No FETS etc.
