If this has plug-in circuit boards, try cleaning the edge connectors by rubbing gently with a pencil eraser. Be sure you brush off all of the eraser droppings before you plug the board back in
------------------
73 de Leigh W3NLB | | Leigh@AtwaterKent.Info
http://www.AtwaterKent.info | | http://www.Synchrophase.info

What is an 1822? Are we supposed to guess? OK, I say it's a B&K. Or possibly HP, Albia, Global, Tek, Wave Tech, Keithley, Fluke. Am I close?
Actually, by your description, it sounds like you may not have a problem at all. If you are running a signal directly from a generator into the counter, you may not have a high enough amplitude, as some require almost half a volt to read properly. And most generators are not amplitude stable; the output can fluctuate wildly. BTW, if the counter has a switchable 50 ohm input impedance, turn it off.

------------------
You can order the schematic and parts list on WWW.bkmanuals.com for 6 dollars.
Peter
------------------
