More to follow... another orphan followed me home. HP-8345A with some obvious issues. Powers up okay, lamp test works, but beyond that it will not count and the display crashes randomly. i'm betting on the power supply having too much ripple. Will post a follow up in a few months or whenever the new workbench is completed and back in operation.

Hints appreciated in the interim.

Pete

After the power supply checks, maybe a simple unplug/plug of the various PCBs and some switch exercise might be in order.

Just reorganizing, or have you moved?

Reorganizing... old bench did not have enough open work space...

I know the feeling. I'm working to declutter the basement so I can build a new bench that's big enough :-)
