For those that are not aware these two models came with two types of AC and Bias meters.

The early models are square and the meter housing is the mount for the associated resistor boards. New analog meters are not available and converting to Digital not only requires electrical conversion, but the need to fabricate mounts for the resistor boards. These early models also had the multi wafer selector switches. I noticed unsuspecting buyers on ebay have recently purchased these models for $1300, $1500 and $935.

The later models of these testers starting in 57-58 had the sealed round meters that were used until production ended for the 539C in the mid 70's. They also use the single wafer selector switches a lot less likely to develop resistance from too much contact cleaner spray.

If your considering the purchase of one of these older models Just beware of what your getting into and buy smart.

For all the Hickok 539B, 539C, RD1575 and the Western Electric KS-15750 models its rare to find one where all three meters are within specifications.
