Hi all,
OK, now I,ve got one. I have quite a few testers but none list a 12CA5 tube. Does anybody know of what testers that are available to test this tube? I have all the I-177's which of course do not list it. I have a Sylvania Electric, model 140 and a Radio City, model 315. These don't list it. Is there a way to use these testers for another number tube such as a 6--- and increase the filament voltage?
Thanks and take care
Bud

------------------
12CA5 is Beam Power Amp.
Pins 3-4 Filament 12.6V 0.6A
Pin 1 Cathode/Grid 3
Pins 2 and 5 Grid 1
Pin 6 Grid 2
Pin 7 Plate
Set tester for 12V Filament.
Find setting for a known beam power amp. Transfer pin numbers. Should be somewhere close. I'm sure someone else can be a lot more exact.
------------------
Hi Bud
Other tubes with the same base wiring are 6AS5, 12C5, 12CU5, 12R5. There are others.
I am sure you will find 6AS5 on a tube tester. As whertel mentions change the filament to 12 volts and it will test.
------------------
Norm
