I'm watching "Bye Bye Birdie" (1963), and in a couple of scenes, you see a Wurlitzer 1015. One also turns up in one scene of "Strait Jacket) (1964), where you can see the mechanism operating. Let's see some more!

"Animal House" Wurlitzer 1100 gets a heavy object thrown at it by John Belushi.
"FM" had a Rockola 1422.
"The Toy" had a Wurlitzer 1015.
In an episode of "The Outer Limits" Jon Voight wrecks a Wurlitzer 1015.

There was one in an episode of Twilight Zone that was part of the plot. I don't remember what jukebox it was. Episode was "The Tune in Dan's Cafe", or something.
Also TV show "Happy Days".

They usually start playing as soon as the keys are pressed, or the coin is dropped, or the mechanism never moves, or the lights are off, or some leather jacketed hoodlum can make it play just by hitting it.

"The Tune in Dan's Cafe" was in Serling's later Night Gallery series.

Yeah, it did occur to me that might have been the case. It never seemed to show up on the marathons.
It was a good episode, it stuck in my mind, most were not that great. Rod Serling didn't really have much to do with that series.

In the movie The Asphalt Jungle (1950) there's a dance scene near the end where Sam Jaffe is on his way to Cleveland and stops in a diner and a couple is dancing to the juke box. He gives the girl $2 in nickels to play some music and he watches her dance. While he's distracted, the cops show up outiside the diner and they catch him with the jewels on him when he leaves. They said they had been outside only two or so minutes--long enough to play one record.

I recommend the movie highly. It has Sterling Hayden and a very early Marilyn Monroe, among others, in it. The juke box doesn't appear to really be playing the records because if you look closely you can see it changing records while the music is still playing.

Here's a screen shot I captured from a YouTube clip of the scene. I think the juke box is a Wurlitzer 1100 from 1948-49, or it looks like that model.

I also remembered seeing juke boxes in The Girl Can't Help It (1956) where Edmund O'Brien plays a gangster who tries to promote his star (Jayne Mansfield) by making a record for her and then changing out juke boxes all over the place to his brand. Some juke boxes were destroyed in the making of the movie and it's right there for all to see. I don't know the specific models but it looks like the ones they destroyed were 1940s Seeburgs and the ones they replaced them with were Rock-Olas, but someone will know exactly what kind they are, I'm sure.

Here's a link to the entire movie on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soxN55f7fzU

And here are some screen shots of all the juke boxes in the movie...

Rocky Horror Picture Show has a slightly modified jukebox in it!
