Can anyone id this logo?

Not quite. Maybe with a little context? What are you trying to identify?

Image-searching "logo" from various phono-related domains (vinylengine, lencoheaven, etc) hasn't turned anything up, yet. Neither did searching for various "P__" brands, in the same manner.

Something of note: Japanese companies, in the first few decades after WW2, were fans of using the castle (and other heraldry) imagery in their graphic design. They seemed to think it denoted a "regal" air to their brands, and a more universal theme, to avoid the rampant anti-Japanese sentiment of the post war era.

They pulled the idea from the British, though, so that could be another clue. PYE from England, ~1900-1975 (purchased by Philips)???

Panasonic had some strange behavior earlier on. I just found and purchased a made-in-Puerto-Rico (!) Panasonic/Matsushita record changer from the (about) the early 70s... so who knows...

I thought maybe them... Philips' logo is too specific. Maybe Perpetuum before Josef Steidinger married Ebner's daughter...? Maybe Pfeifer (MC cartridges), but their logo is a diamond, I think..

Possibly Penncrest, JCPenney house brand
