Got a chance to look in an old radio turntables honey hole this weekend.

Can the resident experts tell me all known models of record players used in Scott 800Bs?

If I can find any extras I will be glad to share the info.

I will check this forum thread frequently. Feel free to drop me a PM as well.

Thanks in advance

Mike

Most commonly equipped with the Garrard RC-60. Less common, the Thorens CD-40. Rarely the Webster Chicago 57 and in some very late selling sets, the Webster Chicago 257 and 357.

Thanks Norman that helps a lot. My two 800B's were built in Oct 1946 and Feb 1947. Does that help narrow it down any?
P.S.

Just checked my Oct 46 800B and it has the very desirable 33-45-78 Webster Chicago 357. SCORE!

Thanks,

Mike

How/why did they build that in 1946 for? 33s weren't released commercially other than the RCA 1931 transcription series until two years later, and 45s weren't released until THREE years later.

Although all Scott 800B chassis were made by July 1947, Scott Radio Laboratories was still selling from the inventory as late as 1951.
