I just acquired this Braun MM3 console which I have read were made from 1956 through 1958.
It has a RC61 radio and unknown model Telefunken record player.


Does anyone know how to identify which specific Telefunken record player this is? There are no numbers to be found on either side of the platter.


The only numbera I can find on the underside are 720898 and 1238.00


The center shaft and platter wobble when touched, which is the issue I'd like to fix.

What I'd really like to know is what specific model of Telefunken record player do I have and do you think it's only a loose nut, or is it more likely to a related bearing?

Also, what is the minimum electronic restoration I should do if I plan to use the console very little and mainly use it as furniture (but I'm sure the wife will want to play a record or two). I'm assuming there would be some essential caps to replace.

Here is the schematic which I found inside the unit (that's the best my iphone could do).

Wiggle the spindle and observe if the nut wiggles as well.

If you can't find any service information on this specific turntable, look for something on the Voice of Music 950. They seem to be similar, and I believe the Telefunken was built under license from V-M.

3. RE: capacitors. Replace electrolytics and probably all other
non-ceramic caps.

4. Check resistors to be wnl of their values.

Was able to remove one screw and swing some stuff out of the way and access the nut that secures the spindle and get it tightened down.

I'll now need to tune things up to get it to run smoothly. Was able to get a few stations tuned in.
