I came across one of these that needs total rebuild. It is priced at $50 plus tax. It has an output cord with a RCA jack on it and I think these were intended to use a TV amp and speaker by plugging the RCA jack into a port on the back of the TV. I searched this forum for Emerson 598 and found nothing. Is this unit worth messing with? Thanks. Since posting this I found that the RCA 9JY is the same machine. On EBay they are relatively inexpensive. Am I correct in believing that they have to plug into another unit for Amp and Speaker? Thanks.

Correct, it needs to plug into an amplifier to work. Is it worth rebuilding? Only you can answer that. How much do you like it, and is it something you would enjoy using?

Thanks. I think I will pass on it for now. I am currently involved in getting the 45-EY-2 working and that may satisfy my 45RPM urge.
