I come begging folks. This turntable has multiple issues. Namely, the cartridge will not stay in place to add it "ist kaput" with no output directly wired to a phono input, that is to say not trusting their mounting assembly.

Next, the "kondensator ist kaput". It measured 4nF as opposed to the 350nF as printed on it. Also it leaked goo allover the mounting board.

To add insult to injury, one of the wires broke off the terminal board when moving the board to clean it off.

The power switch is all split open with pieces that were rattling inside.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this thing, a replacement cartridge & stylus, and a replacement tonearm power switch?

Disaster photos are available if needed.

Please help. Thanks.

Hi Sparky and welcome to the phono forum.

Try over here at this site for your manual.
They are a large group and many Euro members
who are PE owners.

Good luck,
Hotwax

Thanks for the link but nothing was found under all of the REX's. I checked all of the others and no go. Mine is wired differently, as well as the PE10 cartridge. Strictly a EU unit. It was brought over with the voltage at 220 with the EU plug.

I usually junk these PE turntables when they are in pretty bad shape (they are usually the weakest link in these German sets) and fit a newer Garrard, BSR or similar consumer makes from the 70's in there....if your set is a 120vac model.

 I merely gave my solution as an option to you, based on having worked with a number of these sets with PE turntables in poor condition... You didn't indicate there was no option to replace it.

Thats a nice turntable. Is the automatics working as it should? You can try to turn the turntable by hand and press the start button for o while.
Im not sure what the condensatir schould be, but the P E REx Deluxe use 1,6uF.
