Hey everyone! New member, first post.

I bought a Scott Radio 800-B a couple of years ago with the hope of restoring it and making it a FUN-ctional living room piece. I don't know anything about vacuum tubes, amps, or phonographs. For better or worse that's the most fun way to learn for me! So I'm very much looking forward to learning as much as I can about these technologies!

Long story short, the radio came with a Markel Playmaster 74 and I think 2 cartridges. I was hoping to get some information on this player. Manual, schematics, etc....

Does anybody have that info or know where I can get it? I haven't been able to locate much.

I probably wont be using it in the radio because my wife wants to be able to play modern records, but that's a headache for another day!

Thanks for any help!

*I'll post pictures later

Welcome to the Phono Forum.

Markel Playmaster 74-75 was found in database of Sams Photofacts 91-7
from 1950.
The file currently in Sams is 131-11 from 1951,
which contains 91-7 & the 1951 supplement information

That record changer looks daunting mechanically.
Await your photos.

Here is the link to my Imgur album. I took pictures from different angles. Let me know if there are any specific pictures you'd like to see or if I should post the pictures directly into this post.

Very daunting -- it will play both sides of the record. The top side down on the turntable, the other side while being suspended and spun on those three rubber rollers. Notice the second stylus on top of the tonearm.

Downloaded the Sams 131-11 and holy moly!!! This thing is a ridiculous piece of engineering! Amazingly cool and scares the heck out of me! I'm kind of glad that my wife doesn't want to use this so I can put this thing in a box and walk past it telling myself I'll get to restoring it one day! Geez-o-Pete!

It's probably not as bad as it looks though..... right?!
