I have this turntable in the shop that needs a degreasing of the auto return and stop function mechanism, but it is kind of a complex unit and would rather wait till I find a service manual for it. Vinyl engine only has the instruction manual, no service manual. Was hoping someone that is familiar with Technics would know if any other models have the same mechanism. I don't want to guess and use up my download allocation by going through several different models! Thanks!

VinylEngine has the service manual for the SL-5300 which is the fully automatic version of your semi-auto SL-5210. The motor control circuits use the same chipset as yours.

Stay away from manuals-in-pdf.com

Thanks for the info! I tackled the thing last night and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The main mechanism comes off the deck in one piece without too much trouble, I took pictures on the way! The trouble was the usual suspect, grease that had turned to glue.
