Hello folks. I just got done going through and re-cleaning and checking parts involved with Stop function because cam won't cycle. Auto start works fine, but I still can't get cam to cycle after engaging Stop lever. After staring cam cycle by hand, Stop function works as it should, i.e., tonearm lifts and returns to rest and unit shuts off. Anyone have any thoughts? Many thanks!

Hey Davek65. Thanks for the speedy reply. Unfortunately, the video you provided a link to does not address the trouble I'm having. The auto return works fine on my 1229. It's the Stop function that is not working. The Stop function is supposed to lift tonearm off of the record at any point and return it to rest and shut down motor. Regards, -Paul

Have you removed the cam wheel and cleaned/relubricated the velocity trip pieces on the camwheel? It is likely that the damping grease has dried out, causing the trip to not position properly. Has this turntable been overhauled? I've never seen one that didn't need a teardown to remove the old congealed grease that is everywhere in the mechanism.
