Picked up a Zenith Super-phonic at a flea market recently. It has the Cobramatic record changer with stroboscope. Right now, I'm just looking for service information. I tried looking in my Sams index, but it does not have this model number.

I'm taking my time with this one, since I don't normally work on record changers. The on/off switch and record change button is jammed, so I cannot tell if it works or not. I am able to spin the platter with my hand, although there is some resistance.

Thanks in advance for your help.

As you said, the HFR16, chassis 3R03 are not listed in Sams. This unit HFR15 in Photofact set 270, folder 19 looks similar, but the chassis numbers don't match either. Also, Sams says this one uses changer S-14061, but they don't show any service listing for that number. Sams set 226, folder 13 shows a similar changer as yours. Do you have a number from your changer ? Could this have been a Canadian model ?

I thought it might be a Canadian model also, but I did not see any evidence on the tube diagram or elsewhere. Here's the label inside:

Looks like it's a U.S. model. Here's an ad showing it for sale in California --

Look at the prices! $80 for a clock-radio in 1958 -- that's like $800 today.

I found the HFR16 listed in a 1954 Zenith service manual. The only difference between the 3R03 chassis and the 3M02 that I could find is that your 3R03 has one of those cord winding mechanism like the ones used on some tube transoceanic radios.
