I found this 1957 Sarah Vaughn LP at an antiques mall last weekend. All I can say is, wow! I have several of her early albums but this one is the best by far. What a voice!

and for the whipped cream on top I also found this 1960 Julie London LP. Both records are near mint and sound great.

I love Jazz and Big Band stuff...

Just this morning for $2 I picked up a "Limited Edition" volume one - Boxed Set of Glenn Miller and His Orchestra - RCA Victor collectors issue.

10 45-RPM EP's most have 3 songs on a side. The box smells ever so slightly of a womans perfume....

And.... a circa 1948 Columbia records set c-164 "Mood Ellington" Featuring Duke Ellington and His Orchestra.
This one is 4 x 78-RPM platters in a Cardboard binder with brown paper sleeves for the records and featuring:

On a Turquoise Cloud
hy'a Sue
New York City Blues
Lady Of the Lavender Mist
Golden Cress
The Clothed Woman
Three Cent Stamp
Progressive Gavotte

This one cost me a whopping $3

Last Saturday I picked up 7 boxes of 78s for free.

Many 1930s jazz and swing records - Ellington, Basie, Goodman, Hawkins, Etc. My favorite so far is a King Oliver Victor of West End Blues.

tommy shaw "girls with guns"

love the synth and drums.

it's on A&M also and just has quite the frequency response and dynamic soundstage on a good shure cartridge and vintage setup.

A&M is one of the best sounding labels in the 80's IMHO.

it just rocks in every possible way.

How about a crazy named band called GOTYE , doing " Somebody I used to know".
on a 7"..45 rpm, small hole...terrible pressing..good tune... it is hit or miss with some of these promo singles, I say promo, because most folks listening to "new" music are not looking for the latest Biscuit" My jukes get a passing glance from the kids...but they are about as excited about
them as the Dennis the tv guy about a radio phono tv console! They have 2000 songs on their
silly telephones!

I was actually wondering about that Gotye 45 when the song came out….

good thing I didn't spring for it on thEbay…they were going for about 24 bucks. Did you get yours cheaper?

I'm sorry to hear it's a bad sounding disc, though. My condolences. LOL

Last Album I bought was a used copy of Maynard Ferguson's "Conquistador" in about 1982. I recorded it to cassette and haven't play an album since then. The Album and cassette are both long gone but I may get a turntable again soon.

The new Jack White LP. I like Jack, but this definitely pushes him into super cool territory for me:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-8B-_Jq2ro

The vinyl disc contains a floating angel hologram!!!!

Other cool features include:

Side one plays inside-to-outside, for coolness
Hidden tracks UNDER THE LABELS pressed at 45 and 78, making this a 3-speed disc
Alternate intro's on Side Two, depending on where you drop the stylus, which both meet up for the body of the song
Locked loop grooves at end of both sides

+1. Jerry's Records is a menace to both my wallet (his prices are good, it's just that I always want to buy a ton of stuff) and my home's storage space.

Just arrived, Black Coffee, Peggy Lee's first LP, an eBay find. Album cover and record are both very good. This is the 1956 12" lp with four additional songs. The original 1951 album was a 10" lp.

Sinatra on purple label Capitol 78 rpm Three Coins In The Fountain from same named movie with the flip being Rain. NM condition. 25 cents. Passed on 50 or so other 78's that either didn't interest me or I already had. How many Swing and Sway w/ Sammy Kaye and Frankie Carle records were pressed? Seems I find each and every one.
