A Zenith 7H820 that I got some time back came with no tube shield on the osc / converter. Today I was working on another radio that had a tube shield made of cardboard with aluminum foil glued to it and I thought I might make my own. I used the aluminum foil tape used for heat and air duct work. Cut a strip just less than the height of the tube. Cut a length just enough to go around the tube plus about 3/8 inch. I wrapped it around the tube glue side OUT and stuck it together. Then took another piece the same length and put the glue side in next to the glue of the first wrap. This gives it enough stiffness to push down over the tube and under the tabs that ground it. So it is foil on the inside and outside and no glue exposed. Worked great.
