Welp, might be no saving this one. At least it looks cool on my back porch. The dump is an old family one back in the woods behind my house and judging from the "shape" (haha) its in, it was rolled down the hill. I know its an rca super but its wierd, i cant find info on it Anything would help! PS anyone wanna do a craigslist ad? I think it would start "beautiful mid century styling, plugged it in but no picture"

That looks way beyond help. Probably was a 1956-61 set.
At this point it is best use is lawn art, or parts chassis + scrap metal.

Yeah, way beyond help. And that funhouse comment was really funny. So i think the craigslist ad would continue "All original paint, electronicly restored, tubes are black must be burnt out, includes a second one for stereo picture"

. Yeah no kidding. I've seen sets with deflection geometry issues before, but this is the first time I've seen a set with cabinet geometry issues.

You know it might just be the horizontal. At least the controls are on top

That's art! Especially if you're a fan of Salvador Dalí.

Put a string of Christmas lights inside, run the cord out the back. Now your ad can say, "Powers Up!"

You could be one of those guys who shows off just how good his restoration skills are by restoring a hopeless case, even though you could probably find something much nicer for free and not looking very hard. We all would indeed be quite impressed to see this one made beautiful again.

Your right tom, i probably could. Oh and if anyone was curious i might post a picture of "whats left of" the speaker, its actually interesting, i left it in the dump with the remains of the screen cover, its laying in the tangled up vines in peices.

Naaa. Leave it unrestored as a "survivor." Collectors go nuts over them.

I'd want to put some tubes in it and see if it would power up.
Maybe you could send it to shango066 on Youtube for one of his TV Resurrection videos.

"Probably just needs a tube", wrote the ebay seller.

would be interesting to see this tv brought back to life. it certainly would prove you are a great tec. good luck if you decide to try fixing it.
just curious is the crt still in one piece? kind of doubt it.
would be interesting to see pics of what is left of the speaker.
hopeless cases are fun to resurrect if you have the necessary time and money and needed parts.

Thomas i didnt find a crt anywhere (though i was looking) just the shattered screen cover. Im pretty sure the parents recycled the crt when the set went on the frits, then told their boys to throw it in the dump, so naturally they rolled it down the hill where i found it. And Eric, yes, he probably could fix it. Honestly i find it funny how he says he resurrects tvs but their 99 percent of the time cheap 90s tvs lol
