My apologies for the forum being down for about 14 hours. There were a couple of things that happened together. There are a couple of changes that are pretty much unnoticed, but important. I'm in the process of converting the site to serve encrypted pages. They will be https instead of plain http. Although as a practical thing it doesn't really matter, Google and some browsers are now requiring the use of page encryption for everyone. If you' got a Warning! This page is not secure ... message, that was the reason. I hired a web developer to make the change for every page on the sit. That was done early this morning and everything appeared to be fine, except for the forum script started acting up. Because of a previous commitment and an issue accessing the error logs, he wasn't able to address it until now. There are still a few things to do, but I think everything works and will keep working. Another change is that the forum are now fully backed up every 24 hours, automatically. Gone are the manual backups done across the internet. I won't miss downloading a 4.5GB file. There is a website section ( https://antiqueradios.com/resources/index.html) set up as a search engine of indexed radio-related sites. It hasn't worked for a few years, but is now. I have to go through and validate all the links and remove the dead ones (quite a few) still, but it's back. After that I'm going to tackle the Photo Gallery and see if that can be set up to allow forum members to post and reject the spammers (why I had to shut down posting in the first place). I'm thinking about what to do after that. Perhaps we can set it up to automatically resize photos posted in the forums and link them to the original uploaded photo of what ever dimensions. Welcome back ...

May I suggest incorporating the awesome resource list Tom Albrecht already has on the forum? Much broader and contemporary... https://www.antiqueradios.com/forums/vi ... 9&t=201537

Welcome back ... Yes please do that as it's very frustrating posting a topic in DIY when the schematic is large enough to where making it 800 X 600 renders it completely unreadable. The schematic then either has to be broken up into sections or sent to interested members via email. Such a feature was not needed when Photobucket allowed free accounts to upload full photos, but since Photobucket stopped that for free accounts and is so full of ads the feature would be a welcome addition to the forums here. Wonder if it would be possible to divide the gallery up by individual usernames where each person gets a certain amount of storage space which is tied to their forum login? That would curtail the spammers.

Not sure how well it works, but this is supposed to both autoresize uploads to fit your frame dimension and display the original full-size image on demand: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/lightbox/

Thanks Alan, excellent work. The change to encryption may be a pain in the neck but it really is important.

Yes, thanks, we knew that was an upgrade in progress, and upgrades are essential these days. Well done!

Yes, the https: is now necessary, as is getting all the links updated - the images for the ads to the right are still served as http: only, as apparently the default page or template still has old http:-only links. They don't show up anymore. If I force http:, and there they are.
Before the upgrade, no warning - now every page is served with a warning that parts of the page are unencrypted, and thus blocked - on every page

That would curtail the spammers. Easy, Upload the large file to a dropbox, then share the link. Or do some really hard things and make it difficult, which seems to be the preferred way here.
