A local craigslist has a couple of these receivers from the early 80's for sale. Have been looking to download a service manual/schematic to look at first. Can't find any for free and prices range all the way up $25. Does anyone know where I might find one, or would this be covered in something like Sam's?

Anyone have any experience with this receiver? Supposedly 75W channel. Has a different power supply design. Saw some newspaper article from 83 where they praised it. But who knows.

IIRC, the STR-VX2, VX4, and VX6 differed mainly in the power output specs and power supply. The Sanyo STK461/463/465 Hybrid amps are used.

My Sony ESI disks all start in 1986/87, so no luck. EEserviceinfo, no luck, HiFiEngine no luck (they have the VX2) - so it looks like eBay or another member will be the source of a manual.

There is a paper original copy of the service manual on eBay right now, $10 with $3 shipping. (Not mine, no affiliation with the seller)

Thanks, I see the manual for 10 + 3 shipping. I think that is the operating manual. Was hoping to look at the service manual (schematic) before deciding to purchase. I have a feeling replacement parts might be a problem. Thanks again.

There is a service manual on “ the bay” for $10 plus $4 shipping. It is a bit tatty but is a service manual.
