I wasn't getting that in my posts, but I am now. It gets added in the editor, after hitting Preview. Each time I hit Preview, it concatenates yet another string of: -="window.open(this.href);return false; (the editor is stripping the on click JS event tag from the beginning of the string when it appears in the Preview window, replacing it with -) And my URL's have been opening in the same ARF tab today, rather than opening a new tab like normal. No, I haven't changed my browser settings. So, for the time being, I have to right click links into a new tab.

Yes, it only appears if you preview or edit your message. You can delete the line completely + also delete one character to its left and then retype that character. When your message looks good... pull the trigger ... It's a new bug. lol Greg. Edit: Correct... Links are not opening in a new tab either.

If doesn't affect the link and I'm manually removing them as I find them. A fix is in the works.

Thank you Alan.... Not any reason to FORCE HTTPS on a site like this however..... (Some browsers cant connect directly to these newer certs) Both HTTP and HTTPS can run together fine..... www.cellar.org does it (You can goto www.cellar.org OR https://www.cellar.org and you stay in that session for the time your there) They are runinng VBB I have to go thru a proxy now to get here and really there is no reason for it... (This isnt a financial site or a site that needs forced SSL) its slower going thru something.... YES I AM ON IE6 BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS SITE DOES NOT NEED FORCED SSL!! I dont wanna make anyone mad, especially you Alan... I have always loved it here.... Thank you buddy EDIT: Heres a good thread to read about this..... This site below also NOW has HTTP and HTTPS working together (When the admin posted this thread it only had http) www.tapeheads.net/showthread.php?t=59798

Actually, I think the site DOES need to be https. Using http, I believe that when you log in your credentials are not encrypted and can be captured. Anyway, using https is just smart these days. Gaining unauthorized access to this site in and of itself isn't that big of a deal, but for someone that uses the same password for all sites (I do not...I have a unique password for each site) this could be problematic.

I believe that this site must use https: because it is a forum that restricts posting to members, and a password is used to prove that one is an authorized user. That having been said, I wonder, what is the future of unencrypted http? I run a Linux server, as a hobby, using a very old PC. The appeal is that it is a vintage computer. Would I be stuck between either having my server be incredibly slow if I use encryption or the links not working at all for many people if I do not encrypt?

You can encrypt but you dont have to block HTTP sessions.....
No reason to force SSL on a site unless its a banking/financial site... (All ya do is cause potential connection problems for no reason)
This is the internet NOTHING DIFFERENT OUT HERE THAN 5 YEARS AGO!!

Welcome back ... Yes please do that as it's very frustrating posting a topic in DIY when the schematic is large enough to where making it 800 X 600 renders it completely unreadable. The schematic then either has to be broken up into sections or sent to interested members via email. Such a feature was not needed when Photobucket allowed free accounts to upload full photos, but since Photobucket stopped that for free accounts and is so full of ads the feature would be a welcome addition to the forums here. Wonder if it would be possible to divide the gallery up by individual usernames where each person gets a certain amount of storage space which is tied to their forum login? That would curtail the spammers. Have you tried Flickr? That is what I switched to after Photobucket instituted their ransom. Aside from the one jerk move of dropping their free storage from 1TB to 2000 photos and forcing folks like me with over 3000 to delete a large chunk of their gallery (also giving the photobucket scoundrels an idea to follow suit) they have been better than Photobucket. If you create multiple 3rd party free email accounts to sign up for multiple Flickr accounts you can bypass that 2000 limit by whatever multiple you feel like making emails for.
