The General aka Pacific Radio 14 tube chassis on my bench has an open interstage transformer. One leg of the secondary is open. The transformer primary connects to a pair of 6C5 tubes in parallel. The secondary connects to a pair of 6F6 outputs in push-pull. See pic of schematic (Riders Pacific 7-10). The primary measures 30kohm, the good secondary leg is 2350 ohms. What would be a good replacement- or what should be the specs? I see a few on Ebay, but dang, they are pricey.

Could you add a picture of it, with dimensions, please? And/or, is there a part number on it. I could look through my Thordarson stash and see what I've got.

There is always this:

The full list (more expensive ones **might** be better??)
https://www.tubesandmore.com/products/t ... Interstage

Or maybe re-wind the existing one

Size is 2 3/4" mounting, 2 3/4" high, 2" wide. Marked A82VC. No brand. Size isn't an issue since it's mounted under the chassis and there's lots of room. Mostly concerned about electrical specs.

You could use the extra 6C5 as a phase inverter, and eliminate the transformer.

I thought of that but I think I'd need more gain. And a schematic.

The A53C is a bit anemic, you won't get much bass through it. They were great for 5 tube 3 dialer battery sets but not for big 14 tube consoles.

I would try to find a Stancor A73C or A83C if possible or another good sized interstage.

30k on the primary seems high to me. i wonder if its on the verge of opening....
