Good Evening:

I would like to post photos to the topic "Handmade Radio/Need Date." What is the step-by-step process? Thank you.

Step one: Browse your computer for the photo. The rest are self-explanatory. Step three is optional... :)

You may have to use the lower Preview and Submit radio-buttons?
I have never used this method for posting images.

My test Preview.

Either set of buttons can be used as they are redundant.

The main thing is to make sure your images are 800 x 800 pixels or less with a maximum file size of 256 kb. I find the simplest method for me is to use the free image editing software called Irfanview when storing photos on my computer for use on the forum. That way they are always available, properly named, cropped, and in the correct format for easy upload to the forum. Many other methods are available to achieve this, however.

A safe option is a resolution of about 640 X 480 pixels, saved in the jpeg format.

Some larger pictures may be OK---it depends on the "busy-ness" of the image.

Replies number 3, 4, and 5 explain how to post pictures. Short and sweet. Perhaps this thread should replace any others about posting pictures.
Thanks Greg, Dave, and Pix.

In another thread, Alan Voorhees wrote:
The size limit is currently 512 Kb.
That should help a lot. I guess it was changed from 256 to 512 at some point.

I also use an online resizing tool called PICRESIZE. It is simple no frills and works great for me. I resize to max 800 and save as JPG at 256 Kb.
I have tried others but being simple minded I usually found them with too many bells and whistles. JMHO.
