Not a BIG fan but, I've got most of their albums (on CD now, though). Some of it is a bit campy but I do enjoy them from time to time.
Favorites songs include their big hit, "Soul Experience" and "In The Time Of Our Lives".
Now, the Metamorphosis album is my favorite "whole" album! Not a dud in that one!

Iron Butterfly trivia - Started out as a song with words, "In a Garden of Eden, Baby". Many hours later "Ina Gadda Da Vida, Baby".

Dirty Hippy Trivia:
Iron Butterfly was booked to appear, and is listed on the Woodstock poster for a Sunday performance, but could not perform because they were stuck at LaGuardia Airport. According to Production Coordinator John Morris, "They sent me a telegram saying, 'We will arrive at LaGuardia. You will have helicopters pick us up. We will fly straight to the show. We will perform immediately, and then we will be flown out.' And I picked up the phone and called Western Union ... And [my telegram] said: 'For reasons I can't go into / Until you are here / Clarifying your situation / Knowing you are having problems / You will have to find / Other transportation / Unless you plan not to come.'" (The first letter of each line in the telegram spelled out an acrostic making clear that Iron Butterfly was not welcome.)

I have that album, plus their album Ball. This may have been viewed by some on here, but this girl really does a good job on drums with IAGDVB. Ron Bushy's wife was impressed with her. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyF5A7BFnqwRW

Well, I'm not sure what to make of this, but ten years ago if a band asked you, "What song do you want to hear?" the answer from the crowd was invariably "Free Bird!!!". Nowadays, the more frequent answer is, "In a godda da vida"....

Radiowizard,
Sina rocks!!
She is only 15 years old, and the lead guitarist is also 15. These recordings were done in different countries, and edited together. Check out "Sina" on you-tube for her other GREAT stuff!

Kids Today.....
Have no idea why when guys our age sing `Doo-Doooo Do-do-do Doooo' in place of the Twilight Zone or Outer Limits theme when unexplained circumstances present themselves - laugh knowingly at each other. Kids can't figure out what's funny.
Come to think of it they can't figure out what's funny when we sing those themes either under the same circumstances.

I still like them from when I was a kid riding around in my buddy's VW psychedelic van, a bunch of us painted it up one Saturday afternoon and put grave stones with a few of the more unpopular (with us) local cops' names on it, we used to get pulled over everywhere we went, I don't know why. He had them on 8 track, I recently bought most of their stuff on CD. I still have a couple of their LP's also.

Largely forgotten and now unknown to the young-uns. But very good, intricate stuff. And an ever-changing lineup!!
