Hello All,
I'm new to this forum so hope I'm in the right area. I used to listen to Radio Moscow (Great Britain and Ireland) broadcasts in my teens and early twenties from 1977 till about 1983. I have some recordings but wondering if anybody out there has any recordings from this era. I've been trying to find out where the likely archive is held. I've written to Radio Russia and they said they don't have those archives!
Many thanks Rob

Probably there is no archive remaining anywhere. I sometimes wish I had recorded some of the latter USSR RM broadcasts, when Vasily Strelnikov announced his program with something like, "Hello Comrades ! Here we are with more of this Capitalist filth known as Rock n Roll ! "
I used to mail old National Geographic magazines to Joe Adamov of Radio Moscow - he loved them ! -Hue

I have always enjoyed the Moscow mail bag hosted by Urie. Had the Russian accent and used propaganda such as “ John Smith from Omaha Nebraska wrights, Dear Urie, is it true what your president said ? “ Urie would say NITCH ! No .. That’s not what he meant. Taken out of context !

You said you have some of those recordings, would it be possible to post those here so we can listen to them and that way if anyone else wants to find them at least some will exist?

I recall hearing over R.Moscow the U.S. rock song "For What It's Worth" but sung in Russian language. If you don't know, this song has some lyrics that go like this, "Paranoia strikes deep / Into your life it will creep / Step out of line, the man comes and takes you away" When I heard that over Radio Moscow, I understood that the USSR was approaching its end.
