My granddaughter is attending her first week of kindergarten. This sort of reminds me of a radio program that's rather obscure, called Professor Kaltenmeyer's Kindergarten. Ir aired in the early 1930's as a comedy, where adult actors were the kids in class who created mayhem.

There seems to be very little surviving material on this, just a clip here and there. I know the theme song was the same tune as Our Gang/Little Rascals, only with words:

Kaltenmeyer's Garden Let's all go to school,
In his kindergarten where nonsense is the rule,
(unintelligible) we condone it, mischief we obey,
Lots of it and you'll admit we're in the good old days.

One other tidbit I just found out by researching it. Two of the kids were played by Jim and Marian Jordan, of Fibber McGee and Molly fame. Apparently they left the show, as did a few of the other actors, in 1936 to start Fibber McGee & Molly. This is also interesting, as the ***spammer*** also had a show called Smackout, which appears to have run in the early 30's; I guess they ran from one studio to the next to do both shows.

I'm curious to know if anyone out there has anything to add, and if any real material has surfaced -- such as a complete show. I'm also curious to know if this show had any affiliation with Our Gang/Little Rascals.
