Mods, if this should be in Test Equip and Tools, please move it. I wasn't sure.

I've hit upon the $1 million idea. And I'm going to give it away for free. Up at the shop today, I finally hit my limit of having pens, pencils, markers, driver bits and other similar shaped objects, consume half my shelf on the heavy duty bench. So, having a bunch of junk in my way, I accidentally came up with this.

It uses a 4x4 electrical box, and some 2" PVC. (Edit: Might actually be 1.5" I'll try and remember to check and post a correction). What could be simpler. It's patented ... I get $40 for each one you build. :-D

I'm going to make several more I think, for my other benches at least. The nice thing about this approach is you can make the tubes as long as you want. They fit very snugly into the box with no fasteners, and the box acts as a bottom as well. No fiddling, no screws, no glue, no nuttin honey.

K.I.S.S. Principle at it best. Thanks for the idea. Have plenty of those parts. Going to be a rainy weekend here. So out to the garage and put a couple together.

Sorry Barry, your tool holder won't meet code unless you plug those open knockouts on the 4x4 boxes.

I see I've come to the right place........... ::::::::smacks self in head

Actually, I do have plugs for those holes from my occasional electrical install (shhh, don't tell the inspectors) lol. Now where did I put those things.........

Actually it's way worse than those holes. I'll never pass plumbing inspection without a trap, and vent stack. And a pressure test. Although personally I think I've passed the pressure test more than once ;-)

Great idea. 8) Mine are in a large Zip Loc Baggie hanging from my pegboard. This looks much nicer.
