Hi folks!
I just bought for just 3 Euros a nice Coca Cola bottle shape radio!
Yes, it was a flea market find.
It is told that it is made in the 70s.
Anyone could help with a schematic/"service manual"?

Many thanks in advance!
SIXMILLION DOLLARMAN

Is it a tube set or transistors?

Hi John,
It is a 70s set, of course without tubes.
Regards,

Service manual!
Garbage novelty radio manufactured in Hong Kong, no schematic published.

Why do you need a schematic?
All components can be identified.

Why would you need a print? I assume that it's a garden variety 6 Transistor circuit. Just replace the 4 Electrolytic's if it's not working, as a start.

I do see that the white paint on the lower IF core has been scratched, so someone before you may have gotten in there and fiddled with the IF's and/or the osc coil's cores. Do the recap, and then if necessary adjust the cores.

There's also an AM-FM version.

Hi,
Until now I had no time to test it.
Mine is a FM radio.
I know them only beeing Am- or FM-only radios.
I got it now open.
It is possible that the tuning cap is overturned...................
Today I shall power it up.

Regards,
SIXMILLION DOLLARMAN

I'd be interested in a copy of the schematic since I have one that doesn't work despite a recap and a very meticulous visual examination.

Bad news!
The tuning cap is really overturned!!!!!! :(
I have no experience with that little junky tuning caps.
I can see that the stator plates are bended, no chance to re-adjust.
What I have to do now is finding a cap that has the same datas.

Of course, these caps are common on all these 70s/80s/90s wake-up and portable
radios.
If I should ignore the AM section, do I have a problem with the Picofarad data
of the interchange tuning cap?
I think a re-alignment with the (sweep-) generator is required. :|

Whats your opinion?
Regards,
SIXMILLION DOLLARMAN :?

That's a much more reasonable price then the local goof on C.L who thinks his is worth $75. I was probably made in Hong Kong, or Taiwan, so it was never a great radio to start with.
