Greetings-

Picked up an Atwater Kent breadboard 10A model 4550 that had the end of the cord wrapped in a manner that looked like it could be factory. I've attached pictures below. I believe at least the cord could be new old stock. The only thing I was told was this was sitting in an attic for years and came with BB tipped 201a tubes that have good filaments. I will check audios and emissions later.

Could easily be the original, it looks just like the one on mine.

If original, they did a crappy soldering job on it. My guess is not original.

Post a photo of the connections end of the cord, that would help.

The problem is I would have to unwrap it. I am considering leaving it alone as proof it is NOS - at least the cord. Both audios are good so I believe it likely hasn't been used much - if at all. Its been stored in an attic so it has nearly 100 years of dirt and patina, but no real wear. The paint looks aged for sure. Unless I just unwrap a small piece at the end. Thinking about doing that because I am curious.

If the cable has never been unwrapped I would expect a little yellow tag attached to the bloody end, secured with a knot on the tail of the outer braid.

My AK 10-C has the remains of such a tag and the picture I am attaching is from a virgin AK-20 installed in a cabinet and the label has rarely seen light of day.

This shows the correct battery voltages for the color of the wire in the cable.

Sounds like you have a rare virgin unit and you probably should hold on to it. I believe my radio's cord is at least NOS. There could be a tag wrapped underneath as I think the connecting wires are folded over and there is something around them. I'm tempted to at least cut off part of the wrap and see.
