I need to remove only the turntable from a rca rp 190. The turntable cracked and needs to be glued back together. The only videos I've found on you tube doesn't show this. HELP please and thanks.

If you are new to changers / record players, take lots of photos / make drawings or you will get lost.

The late Chris Cuff has disassembly and reassembly videos for RP-190 on his youtube channel.

Thanks for those links. They aren't showing how to just remove the turntable. Is there any way to do this?

Unfortunately, much of the mechanism has to come apart to remove the turntable.

As record changers go, this is one of the easier ones to tear down for cleaning and lubrication. Upon reassembly, the adjustment sequence found in the factory service manual (linked above) should be followed in order.

Everything on the turntable shaft below the deck has to be removed.

Thanks everyone. Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough. The platter itself is cracked and I need to glue it back together.

You were quite clear. To remove the turntable, remove the gear under the chassis and everything above it, including the knurled collar that drives the cycling cam. With the knurled collar removed, the turntable and spindle assembly just lifts out.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but thst might not be repairable. Yoy might have to consider a parts unit.

I have it taped together so I'm figuring gluing will be even better. The tape works quite well. This is actually the best playing 190 that I own at this time. It's just cosmetics that don't look good.

As others have noted the best solution would be to source a used turntable - but - see https://www.ebay.com/itm/133401662088?h ... Sw6PpeTe56 - after careful gluing and using this mat it should look almost new. (Note - I have not used one of these mats and my one attempt at rebuilding a RP 190 was 'less then fully successful...... )

Have you had the cam and drive wheel redone? This must be done because they are on borrowed time. Send both to Gary at thevoiceofmusic.com.

About the cosmetics, once the slide is out, there's not much left, and unit can be disassembled, cleaned up and repainted. Take pictures as you disassemble to keep track.

Are you modifying for stereo?

Everything inside has been refurbished. Have glued the turntable together and ordered a new mat to hide the crack.
