Very handsome piece, love the straight lines. Kind of has a Danish/ sixties vibe going on. What year is the chairside? Did you ever get around to the Sparton 270 Junior?

The Rogers chair side is 1946/47. I have the Spartan table top all completed, except for the last coats of lacquer. As you know the weather here is so cold for spraying lacquer, I can't get it done yet. All I need is one day of good weather and it will be done. Here is what it looks like before I got started. Wow that turned out pretty sharp. I actually don't mind it on the reddish side. The one i am working on cleaned up pretty nice although it has a few veneer sand throughs from a previous refinish. The owner wants to leave it as is since it was done by his Grandfather. And that is understandable. Can't wait to show him your effort. Mine has the carry handle and I see your has the holes for one. I wonder if the handle was an option or yours is just missing? The black surround on yours is that toned laquer or paint? Would like to touch up the one I have but not sure what to use. Is your base trim the same as the surround trim? kind of hard to tell from the lighting in your pictures... I do like the grill cloth...is that actual grill cloth or somethiong you had on hand? Your veneer on the front is much nicer than mine. Luck of the draw when made lol Sorry for all the questions lol. It is nice to give the owner as much story and history, as he wants to leave it to his 12 year old nephew who has developed a keen interest in old tube stuff.

Thanks Ron; Mine is missing the handle,so I just used a couple of the small decorative bolts. The kind used to hold speakers on. You can see them in one of the photos. The darker areas on mine are Mohawk van dyke brown lacquer. It might look darker than it is because of the camera. The base trim and the other trim are the same toned lacquer.
The grill cloth is something I had lying around and it seemed to go quite well on this radio. I save every piece of cloth that might look good as a grill cloth. Some of the cloth does not look as good as I thought it might, but I keep it anyway. I am always going to the Thrift stores looking for grill cloth.
Ron , send me a PM as I have some radios that the 12 year old nephew might be interested in. They are battery sets
