What if I don't know the model number of my radio?
Try posting an inquiry in the Antique
Radio Forums. Make sure you include the make your radio, a description
of the set including a list of the tubes it uses. A photo is also helpful
in identification. Someone there may have information about your set.
What if my radio is listed without a value?
If I email you with information about my radio can you tell me it's value?
No. For help in valuing your radio, try posting an inquiry in the Antique
Radio Forums.
Why don't you give specific dollar prices for radios?
There is no single dollar price that can be placed on any radio. Radio prices vary according to where they are being sold, a radio at a yard sale would be expected to sell for less than a radio sold in an antique store, for example.
How accurate are the years listed?
Dates listed are the year a particular model was first introduced. Some radio models were manufactured for several years. Determining exact manufacturing dates for items a half-century old is not an exact science, for the most part dates should be accurate to within a year.
Where else can I get radio values?
There are several books availble to help identify and value radios. Try your local library or bookstore for these titles:
Machine Age to Jet Age, Radiomanias Guide to Tabletop Radios by Mark Stein. Currently 3 volumes, this collection of books pictures and values several thousand radios.
Guide to Antique Radios by Marty and Sue Bunis. Prices and descriptions for about 2,000 radios. Photos of around 200 sets.
Antique Radio Price Guide by Robert Grinder. Lists around 20,000 radios with very brief descriptions and values expressed in price ranges. No photos.
